COMPANY OVERVIEW
The Pack, a premier dog walking company based in Glen Rock, NJ, is a professional dog walking company. We pride ourselves on providing the highest quality service possible to our clients and their pets. Our reputation within the communities we serve is very important to us. Customer service and stellar pet care are our top priority. We appreciate the dog walkers we work with and treat them with utmost respect. After several years in business and hundreds of
satisfied clients registered with our company, we are excited to add another pet care professional
to our network of service providers. The Pack is seeking bright and energetic candidates for dog walking services. The right candidate should have excellent communication skills, prior dog-handling experience, and the
ability to reliably serve our primary service area in Glen Rock, Ridgewood, Wyckoff, and Midland Park, New Jersey. This opportunity is structured as an independent contractor engagement. Independent contractors provide services as independent businesses under a written independent contractor agreement. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking for supplementary income.
WHAT WE OFFER
Competitive pay, tips, and bonus pay. A consistent flow of client requests and a supportive and kind working relationship for animal lovers who believe in positive reinforcement dog walking and cat care. We treat our care providers with the same kindness and respect we show our clients. Our administrative staff supports the engagement by coordinating client requests, billing, and customer service, so you can focus on what really matters, caring for the pets and enjoying
the fresh air.

FULLY-PAID TRAINING
Regardless of your previous experience, we want to ensure you are fully prepared to use our pet-
sitting software for visit updates and client communications. It is not complicated but can take some practice.

AS A PRIMARY WALKER
You may be offered a recurring group of client assignments in a walkable area, based on your stated availability and our clients’ needs. That means you may have many of the same happy customers regularly. Occasionally, you may be offered assignments for a family that books service less regularly, but you will have access to the information you need to care for each pet. This role can be physically demanding. This position involves walking that sometimes covers
over a mile, and sometimes walking two dogs at the same time. Each client’s needs are different. Some client pets are let out in the yard requiring little walking, some walk slowly for a short distance, and others need long, brisk walks. You will likely be offered a combination of walk needs on any given day. It is important for you to be able to perform a walk at a pace that is required for that particular pet and client instruction. It is great exercise!

AN IDEAL DOG WALKER WILL
• Be legally eligible to provide pet care services and meet any applicable insurance eligibility requirements for driving between client locations.
• Be able to reliably service our primary service area of Glen Rock, Ridgewood, Wyckoff, and Midland Park or very close by, including arriving on time for accepted assignments.
• Have a reliable car, valid driver’s license, and required auto insurance for travel between client locations.
• Have a smartphone to access our pet care software (we can help you with this).
• Have excellent time management skills. Many client requests involve back-to-back visits within the client’s requested time windows. Once an assignment is accepted, reliability and punctuality are critical.
• Enjoy an active work environment, working outdoors in typical New Jersey conditions, including heat, cold, and rain, as long as conditions are safe.
• Indicate general availability consistently. Many clients request coverage at least 3 weekdays per week between 11am and 3pm. Additional client requests may be available between 8am and 11am and/or 3pm and 8pm. The Pack offers service from 8am to 8pm, 7 days per week, 365 days per year. Weekends and holidays may increase the number of assignments available. Holiday services pay an additional $25 per visit.
• Aim to give our clients first-class customer service with a personal touch, including check-in and check-out messages about your visit within our pet-sitting software. Our clients love receiving updates after each visit, so clear communication is required. Communicate promptly with the client and, when necessary, the office for coordination and safety.
• Have respect for our clients’ homes and their pets. This is important.
• Create a safe and positive walking environment for our clients’ dogs. Patience is required.
• Follow the client-provided care instructions, including training preferences, exactly.
